Walk Around London
Walk around London
After Christmas in London
The big walk I failed to do the previous day had heavy rain, light drizzle and even some sunshine!!
I set off walking through a very gloomy Green Park, before I decided to head up The Mall to St James’s Park (my favourite of all the London parks). As this walk takes you in the direction of Big Ben, it was time to get a picture of it with, amazingly, blue sky in the background!!!
After a few photos on Westminster Bridge, I made my way up to Trafalgar Square. The fountains weren’t frozen as they are some years, all flowing nicely.
Now it was time to hit the shops!! The lights were just coming on along Regent street, and the crowds were starting to build up, but nowhere near the amount of people as on Christmas Eve.
After strolling up Regent Street, a visit to Liberty of London is compulsory. Looking at all the Christmas decorations now going on sale, and plenty of people watching to be done. I couldn’t face the crowds on Oxford St, so walked back towards Piccadilly, winding my way through the back streets to avoid the crowds, I got back to my hotel in time to warm up with a mulled wine before deciding what to do for dinner.
London is always such an interesting city to walk around, easy walking because it is almost all flat, you don’t realise how far you have walked until you stop!!
Merry Christmas everyone!!
